This is a self-produced six part mini-series.
Canada prides itself on universal healthcare, but struggles to integrate prevention into treatment. As a result, it is estimated that over 60% of adults will develop chronic diseases by 2050. In this miniseries, hosts Heerea and Shamantha examine how Canada can adopt preventative healthcare by exploring the successful Indigenous healthcare models used at Turtle Lodge in Manitoba. The hosts interview elders and physicians who work to successfully prevent long term diseases.
